New company to produce gasoline engines

Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Kymco have signed a joint-venture contract to produce high performance general gasoline engines.

Under the terms of the contract, Kymco and Kawasaki will invest $10 million to form Changzhou Kawasaki and Kwang Yang Engine Co., Ltd.(CK&K) in the Changzhou National Hi-Tech District. Production is expected to begin next January.

Products of the newly formed CK&K will mainly be exported to North America and distributed around the world under the Kawasaki and Kymco brands. Products will include leaf blowers, power lawnmowers, tree-dozers, pruners, small generators, water pumps, and road cutting machines.
