Polaris has a pair of new RZRs in the stable – the brand new 2019 Polaris RZR XP Turbo S Velocity and XP 4 Turbo S Velocity.

Both machines offer a substantial footprint thanks to their 72-inch width. But it’s their beefed up driveline components that set these models apart from their closest sibling – the RZR XP Turbo S.

According to Polaris, the new RZR XP Turbo S Velocity models feature stronger axles, high-clearance control arms, drive system that is a claimed three times stronger, reinforced chassis, and improved cooling.

Controlling the suspension are three-inch Walker Evans Velocity shocks at all four corners, which feature high- and low-speed compression adjustability.

Other features include a 925cc ProStar Twin cylinder engine that produces 168 horsepower, 32-inch ITP Coyote tires, 16 inches of ground clearance, and standard four-point harnesses.

“We designed the Velocity models in response to drivers seeking the ultimate combination of performance and value,” said Kyle Duea, Vice President of ORV Marketing for Polaris Industries. “Along with this new offering, we’re excited to add an additional paint scheme to the current XP Turbo S and XP 4 Turbo S lineup for a wider range of styles and designs.”

Further setting the Velocity apart is a 25% boost in power steering assist. As well, Polaris says recalibrated throttle mapping “gives the driver more immediate and improved control, while the redesigned clutch box allows for better air flow and decreased belt temperatures.”

Perhaps the biggest news is that these machines will come in nearly $3,000 cheaper than the RZR XP Turbo S models. Both the 2019 Polaris RZR XP Turbo S Velocity and XP 4 Turbo S Velocity are available in a Titanium Metallic paint scheme. Prices for the two-seat RZR XP Turbo S Velocity start at $25,399, while the four-seat RZR XP 4 Turbo S Velocity will retail for $28,399.

Add in the aforementioned beefed up driveline and the Velocity models appear to offer some real value compared to their RZR XP Turbo S siblings. Some of that savings comes from what Polaris calls a “simplified fit and finish when compared to the premium offerings.” But if that means giving up a little style without losing performance, that is a combination that is sure to please.
