Honda's Pioneer 1000, Pioneer 1000-5 and Pioneer 1000-6 Deluxe Crew are all returning for the 2024 model year. The company's flagship multipurpose UTVs will be available with industry-exclusive TrueTimber Atera Camo bodywork. Changes to the crop of big side-by-sides are otherwise effectively nonexistent, though an assortment of other non-camo colors replace an assortment of aging paint schemes.

The Pioneer 1000 represents the biggest, most capable, and multi-faceted UTV in Honda's toolbox. A variety of trims helps make it an easy choice for work duty and recreational fun alike, with a trim available for each discipline. The Pioneer 1000-6 Deluxe Crew stands at the top of the size and people-hauling spectrum, with seating for six and a full-size cargo bed. It continues to use the 999cc Unicam engine and Honda's dual clutch transmission (DCT). Color choices will be TrueTimber Atera Camo, Avenger Red, and Black Forest Green. Pricing is TBD.

Tailored slightly more towards trail time while retaining a knack for getting the dirty jobs done, the Pioneer 1000 and Pioneer-5 return as well for the 2024 model year. Differentiators between the two come down to whether buyers the Pioneer 1000-5 for its QuickFlip seat system which gives users two additional seats in the bed, providing additional passenger capacity over the Pioneer 1000's three-wide bench seating arrangement. Both models retain traction-optimizing "Intelligent" i-4WD on the Trail and Forest trims, which helps serve as a locking front differential without the downsides usually associated with having a fully locked diff. Honda states the Pioneer 1000 and 1000-5 are best for "From hunting and fishing to blazing trails and running cattle," which is consistent with the mantra of the Rec/Utility grouping into which Honda classifies the machines.

All Pioneer 1000 and 1000-5 models officially go on sale in December of 2023. Available colors are Avenger Red and Black Forest Green for the Pioneer 1000 and 1000-5 models; Avenger Red, Black Forest Green, and Shale Blue for the 1000 Deluxe and 1000-5 Deluxe; TrueTimber Atera Camo for the 1000 Forest and 1000-5 Forest; and, Matte Forged Bronze and Matte Metallic Blue for the 1000 Trail and 1000-5 Trail. Pricing is as follows:

  • Pioneer 1000-5 Trail: $22,399
  • Pioneer 1000-5 Forest: $22,399
  • Pioneer 1000-5 Deluxe: $20,399

  • Pioneer 1000 Trail: $20,999
