Video Game Review: Donkey Kong ATV

If you’re old enough to remember when Donkey Kong ruled the arcade, chances are you probably owned at least one pair of acid wash jeans in your lifetime. We’re not judging or anything – we fall somewhat proudly into that group ourselves. In fact, we’re offering you a glimpse of your past as we found a free on-line game that combines the classic video game with ATVs. What’s not to like?

We wasted a little of our work day playing around with Donkey Kong ATV. Here’s the lowdown: It’s not very good. That’s not to say we didn’t get a little enjoyment seeing Diddy Kong riding around on a four-wheeler, but this is not a game that will keep your attention for very long. The controls (arrow keys) are very touchy and it’s difficult to keep the ATV from flipping over. We’d say it’s more difficult than actually riding an ATV, except that this one can do a multiple flips and generally defy gravity.

We managed to make it to the second level before boredom started to set in and co-workers started to question what we were doing, so we’re not sure how many levels are available. If you’ve got a little more time on your hands, please let us know. You can play the game yourself by clicking here.
