Arctic Cat Unveils First Wave of 2016 ATVs and UTVs

Alterra ATV platform introduced
The first wave of Arctic Cat‘s 2016 model year ATV and UTV lineup was unveiled at its annual summer sales meeting in Orlando, Fla.
Seven new models were part of the introduction, including four Special Edition models, more powerful Wildcat Sport models, and the new Alterra ATV family.
“We unveiled exciting new special editions and models to meet the needs of several market segments,” says Christopher Metz, Arctic Cat president and chief officer. “We are executing against aggressive and exciting new product development plans. These new 2016 side-by-sides and ATV models are just the beginning of the innovation that we intend to bring to market, as we strive to create the ultimate off-road riding experience.”
Wildcat
Arctic Cat gave the Wildcat Sport a 5% boost in engine power, courtesy of a new free-flowing exhaust system. The Wildcat Sport retains its midsized 60-inch width.
A new Wildcat X Special Edition features aluminum bumpers, color-matched beadlock wheels and roof, and desert tan colored bodywork.
Also new is the Wildcat Trail Special Edition, which boasts full-sized doors, color-matched aluminum wheels, and a unique timber camo and orange metallic paint scheme.
Wildcat X and 4X models receive all-new Duro PowerGrip tires.
Prowler HDX Utility
Arctic Cat’s new 2016 Prowler HDX Side-by-Side Utility models include the Prowler HDX 700 SE Hunter Special Edition, which features electric bed lift, painted aluminum wheels, 5,000-pound winch, gun scabbard, and true timber camo graphics.
Also new is the 2016 HDX 500 XT, which offers an industry-leading payload with a tilting 2-in-1 cargo box that converts to a flatbed for 1,000 lbs. of carrying capacity. Other features include side and under hood storage compartments, three-person bench seat, tilt steering, new body styling, automotive-style hood.
Alterra ATVs
Arctic Cat debuts the Alterra name on ATVs for 2016, replacing the XR name. New for model year 2016 are the Alterra 400 and 450 models. Features include new bodywork, racks, and headlights.
Arctic Cat says it plans to expand the Alterra line into other growth segments.
TRV
Arctic Cat’s new two-up ATV, the TRV 700 Special Edition, features a 3,000-pound winch, color-matched aluminum wheels, and the choice of true timber camo/orange metallic or black metallic colored bodywork.
The 2016 model Arctic Cats will be available at dealerships beginning in September, along with an all-new full line of SPEED High Performance Accessories for Arctic Cat’s Wildcat line, influenced by racer Robby Gordon and aftermarket innovator Todd Romano.
