2018 Can-Am Maverick Trail Preview
Base MSRP: $10,999
Designed for the recreational Sport UTV market, the 2018 Can-Am Maverick Trail family offers up four 50-inch models ready to tackle tighter trails than any Can-Am Side-by-Side in history.
Consumers will have a choice of two different engines, an 800cc V-Twin that produces 51 horsepower and a 976cc V-Twin capable of producing 75 horsepower. No matter which engine you choose, it will be paired with a CVT Quick Response transmission and Visco-Lok QE.
Measuring just 50 inches wide, the new Can-Am Maverick Trail family is designed for tight trails.
Controlling the ride is Can-Am’s Torsional Trailing A-arm Terrain (TTA-T) rear suspension and double A-arm front suspension. A total of 10 inches of travel is available up front, along with 10.5 inches of travel in the rear. As well, each model offers up 10 inches of ground clearance.
Move into the cockpit and you’ll find Can-Am’s typical attention to detail. Two storage areas are available – one in front of the driver and one in front of the passenger. As well, the driver has five inches of front to back seat adjustability and 25 degrees of steering wheel adjustability.
Note the generous storage compartments in the cockpit.
As we mentioned, four Maverick Trail models are currently available from BRP: Maverick Trail 800, Maverick Trail DPS 800, Maverick Trail 1000 and Maverick Trail DPS 1000. Prices start at US$10,999/C$13,299.
