The Grizzly is back for 2020 and it's ready for adventure

For the most part, the 2020 Yamaha Grizzly is largely unchanged from 2019. However, one interesting addition is the Grizzly is now prewired for the Yamaha Adventure Pro powered by Magellan. This is a GPS and vehicle data tracking unit. If you opt to purchase one with your Grizzly, it will come loaded with Magellan’s GPS network, thousands of waypoints, OHV trails, Yamaha dealers, and more. Additional features are being added all the time.

2020 Yamaha Grizzly EPS Features

At the heart of the Grizzly is Yamaha’s 686cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine. It offers snappier throttle response than the same mill in the Yamaha Kodiak, making it ideal for aggressive trail riding.

Controlling all the engine’s power is Yamaha’s Ultramatic automatic transmission, which features a gated shifter, dual-range Hi/Lo drive, plus reverse gear. This is among the most durable transmissions in the industry and Yamaha backs up its transmission belt with an unheard of 10-year warranty.

The 2020 Yamaha Grizzly also offers an On-Command 4WD system, allowing the rider to switch between 2WD, limited-slip 4WD, and a fully locked differential 4WD with the push of a button. As well, an override button allows the engine to reach maximum rpm in full diff lock mode.

Connecting the Grizzly to the ground are 26-inch Maxxis tires which are paired with four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes to provide stopping power.

As for suspension, the Grizzly is outfitted with independent double wishbone suspension front and rear, which 7.6 inches of wheel travel up front and 9.1 inches in the rear. You can fine-tune the suspension performance thanks five-way adjustable preload on the nitrogen-charged shocks.

Throw in 11.3 inches of ground clearance and you’ve got climb over or roll over just about any obstacle in your path. Of course, if you do happen to scrape the bottom of the machine on a passing rock (we all make miscalculations now and again) the Grizzly is protected by full length composite skid plates.

Further adding to your comfort and control on the trail, every Grizzly model is equipped with electronic power steering. We’ve tested Yamahas EPS extensively and it does a great job of keeping the stress of the ride out of your shoulders and arms, while still providing enough trail feedback to let you feel the trail beneath you.

The 2020 Yamaha Grizzly helps light the way in front of you thanks to LED headlights, which create impressive working light while using less power. Throw in a handlebar-mounted halogen work light and the Grizzly is ready to perform after the sun goes down…or before it comes up.

Yamaha also builds the Grizzly so it is ready to work when you are. Large-diameter front and rear steel cargo racks can hold a combined 308 pounds (110 lbs front, 198 lbs rear). The Grizzly can also tow up to 1,300 pounds via its two-inch receiver hitch when you’ve got a big job that needs completing.

The 2020 Yamaha Grizzly EPS is available starting at $9,899 in Tactical Green or Alpine White, while RealTree Edge camo will add an extra $400 to the bill.

2020 Yamaha Grizzly EPS SE

If you choose to upgrade to the Grizzly EPS SE, you will get all of the same features as the Grizzly EPS, along with Warn ProVantage 2500 winch, 14-inch cast-aluminum wheels, and Matte Silver painted bodywork for $10,799.
