The Yamaha/ITP QuadCross Finale at Glen Helen was painted blue last Sunday with Yamaha riders taking top honors and Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., coming out to support the entire series.

Dustin Nelson won the West Coast’s top motocross crown for the fourth time – his third consecutive – closing out a dominating season in the Pro Production Class. Justin Noss, Jason “Dunk” Dunkelberger, and Jason Fife, all on Yamaha YFZ450Rs, earned the third, fourth and fifth spots respectively, while Dunk captured the Open Pro class championship.

“Yamaha congratulates Dustin, Jason and all of the QuadCross competitors for a great season,” says Donnie Luce, Yamaha ATV/Off-Road racing coordinator, who attended the Finale and helped hand out awards to the series winners at the end of the day.

“Dustin has been with the Yamaha family for years, and we appreciate everything he has done to represent our team as a true champion. He provided valuable testing and input throughout the development of the YFZ450R to make it the best high-performance motocross quad, and he has put it at the top of the podium each year since it was introduced.”

Yamaha came out to Glen Helen for the Finale to support its factory racers and to show its appreciation for everyone involved in the series. All racers and fans received a special “thanks” through give-away items and a free BBQ lunch. Yamaha hosted the awards presentation at the end of the day and gave each class champion a special bonus embroidered Yamaha jacket. Surrounded by new 2011 Yamaha ATVs under the big blue tent, the crowds gathered for the season Finale celebration and enjoyed seeing each class winner mount the podium for their 2 or 3 plates and prizes from QuadCross sponsors.

“QuadCross is the premier motocross series out West, and Yamaha is proud to continue our support of this series and ATV racing in general,” says Luce. “Congratulations to everyone for a great season, and we look forward to introducing some exciting new changes for 2011.”
