2019 Textron Alterra 570 Preview

Textron Off Road has unveiled the first wave of its 2019 ATV lineup, which is highlighted by the new Textron Alterra 570 family. In addition to the new 570 models, the Textron Alterra 700 has also been updated for 2019 and features the new Textron Motors 700 engine.

“We are committed to growing our Textron Off Road lineup of powerful, precision-engineered ATVs,” said John Collins, Vice President, Consumer for Textron Specialized Vehicles. “These new vehicles, led by our new Alterra 570 ATV, include several features that provide operators with more power, a more comfortable ride, and the performance to take on tough trails and get a hard day’s work done well.”

The Textron Alterra 570 family consists of three new ATVs – the Alterra 570, Alterra 570 EPS and Alterra 570 XT. These models feature the same styling as the Alterra 700.

At the heart of the new Textron Alterra 570 is a 545cc, single-cylinder, closed-loop EFI engine. Textron also boasts the Alterra 570 offers a class-leading 10 inches of front and rear suspension travel, along with 11 inches of ground clearance and five-position adjustable front and rear shocks.

“Operators also will appreciate the Rapid Traction System (RTS) on the 570 Base and EPS models, and the Electronic Locking 4WD (EL4) on the 570 XT model,” Textron Off Road says in a release. “Located on the right handlebar for easy use, the RTS and EL4 technologies enable the rider to activate 4WD while the vehicle is in motion. The systems enable operators to easily switch from 2WD to 4WD while keeping both hands on the handlebars. In addition, the XT model’s EL4 system is electronically controlled, giving the operator the ability to switch on-the-fly between 2WD,4WD and 4WD lock, for ultimate versatility in all different types of driving conditions.”

Other standard features include a two-inch receiver hitch, steel racks with a wide array of tie-down locations. The battery has been placed under the seat for improved protection from mud and debris.

The base Textron Alterra 570 is available in Dynamic Gray, while the 570 EPS is available in Dynamic Charcoal and TrueTimber Kanati Camo. Finally, the Alterra 570 XT is available in Fire Red and features EL4 and aluminum wheels. Each model comes with a one-year factory warranty.

Textron outfitted the Alterra 700 with a new engine for 2019 that is both 1.7 inches narrower and 12.4 pounds lighter than the previous Alterra 700 engine. According to Textron Off Road, this was accomplished by reducing the engine’s rotational mass by 30%.

“The reduced rotational mass provides a better throttle response and a faster-revving engine for quicker acceleration,” says Textron Off Road. “The addition of a new camshaft grind also improves throttle response and stability and emissions while idling and provides increased low/mid-range torque for better overall performance. A newly designed, patented CVT cover not only reduces weight, but improves drive belt cooling and provides less heat and sound transfer for a more comfortable rider experience.”

Also new for 2019 is a direct-driven clutch, which Textron Off Road says offers improved clutch calibration for faster back shifting on acceleration.

“With no wet clutch friction materials to contaminate engine oil, the new driveline not only offers better performance, but more durability,” says Textron Off Road.

You can find the new Textron Motors 700 engine in three models for 2018 – the Alterra 700, Alterra 700 XT and Alterra 700 EPS. The Alterra 700 is offered in Dynamic Gray; the Alterra 700 XT in Fire Red, and the new 700 EPS in Earth Blue and TrueTimber Kanati Camo.

The two-up Alterra TRV 700 has been updated for 2019 and offers up an extended frame, longer wheelbase and heavy duty sway bar.

“Hand holds in four unique locations ensure passenger stability and confidence in different riding situations,” says Textron Off Road. “For added versatility, the vehicle features a quickly removable seat and optional dump box. Whether carrying a passenger or hauling extra cargo, the Alterra TRV 700’s standard EPS ensures easy maneuverability. The Alterra TRV 700 is available in Fire Red with aluminum wheels.”

2019 Textron Alterra DVX 90

Unchanged (outside of new graphics) but still available for 2019 are the Alterra 300, Mud Pro 700 LTD and TBX 700. Textron’s Youth lineup includes the Alterra 90, Alterra DVX 90 and Alterra 150.
